MATCHING VALUES

The team values personal growth as much as, if not more than, professional growth. There is a strong emphasis on developing as individuals—friends, husbands, fathers—with the support of the group. While professional development is a goal, the team also prioritizes personal well-being and relationships.

5-STAR STAR EXPERIENCE

I appreciate the emphasis is on enhancing training to ensure knowledge and competence within KW. What sets them apart is the ability to leverage the team, offering diverse resources beyond individual agent efforts. It emphasizes a collaborative approach rather than solely relying on individual agents.

FUn Facts

What pets did you have as a child and how has that influenced your feelings about pets now?

I had two dogs in my life - the first one when I was younger, but my dad had to rehome it due to its nippy behavior, and it ended up with my grandfather. Later, we got another family dog, which we had until she passed away. Although I'm a huge fan of dogs, I currently don't have any pets because my kids are almost out of the house, and we're rarely home. I'm allergic to cats, so dogs are my preferred companions, and those were the only pets I personally had.

When you look at the things that you like to do growing up. It seemed like you continued to do a lot of physical activities now. How did things change, if at all, for you once you had kids?

Growing up, I was passionate about sports, particularly ice hockey and golf, with aspirations of making it to the NHL. However, as I got older, practicalities set in, and I shifted my focus. Golf became a more recreational pursuit, especially after having kids, limiting the time I could spend on personal activities. Despite this, I found joy in introducing golf to my three children from a young age. I had them swinging clubs as soon as they could walk, fostering a love for the game. Now, as teenagers, they've embraced golf as a lifelong hobby, creating a shared and enjoyable family activity.

Speaking of the hockey thing, you mentioned pursuing or the dream of an NHL career at one point in your life. What would it have taken to make that dream or chase that dream to reality?

In the early to mid-90s, pursuing a career in hockey in the U.S. posed challenges due to the smaller hockey landscape compared to today. While there weren't widespread developmental programs, I aimed to play in juniors or college, particularly in NCAA D1. However, the financial constraints became a significant hurdle. Despite my dedication, my parents couldn't support a move to areas like New England for better opportunities due to the high costs associated with hockey. Reflecting on this, the importance of surrounding oneself with the right environment and individuals, crucial in both sports and business, became apparent. Despite reaching the top end of programs in Pittsburgh, where I grew up, and facing responsibilities in high school, the pursuit of higher-level hockey ultimately came to an end.

Do you take pride in being the George Clooney of the Waldner Winters team?

Having heard that for the first time, sure I'll take pride in it. Why not? I think that's a stretch, but I appreciate it.

What's the best thing about being a dad?

The single best thing that has happened in my life is undoubtedly my three kids. Watching them grow up and develop has been a profound and cherished experience. A particularly special aspect for me is the unconditional happiness and love they displayed when they were younger. Being their source of joy and the most important person in their lives was incredibly fulfilling. While it's challenging to articulate, this bond and the joy of parenthood stand out as one of the most rewarding aspects of my life.
